Memorial Day is a day of remembrance and honor. It is a day to remember the fallen soldiers of past and present that allow us to enjoy our freedom. It has become a day to relax and spend time with family and friends. Many people have expressed disdain in the later, opposed to a frivolous day spent on the river rather than reflecting on and remembering the loss of our loved ones, soldiers, and honoring their memory with patriotic somberness. Whatever way you choose to spend Memorial Day, say a silent thank you to the soldiers who have given the ultimate sacrifice because without them, the contention would be mute.
