Life is hard...Art helps.

My flowers grow wild with enthusiasm amid some not so friendly beetles but they still thrive. The beautiful blooms crumble and dry, re-seeding, continuing the cycle of life and death. I guess that just about says it all. In the ugliness of the cycle of life, there is a chance for new life, new starts, and fragrant beginnings. I took an image of this flower because the negative shapes appealed to me. Look at the angular lines, drawing your eye inward toward the wrapped up cocoon of the petals, while others of the fringe explode into blossoms. Its petals create a beautiful composition of line, color, texture and shape. As Professor Marty Warninski said, "Life is hard. Art helps." We will soon have a yearly calendar, made from some of our art, some beautiful, some fun, maybe something ugly but intriguing you can download for your computer back splash. It is our way of saying thanks. Watch for it!
